Aiming to preserve the archaeological value of the material nature goods, preventing that may be destroyed or adulterated, goods are listed by the Institute of National Historical and Artistic Heritage (Iphan).
All archaeological sites are defined and protected by Law No. 3,924 / 61, being considered capital assets of the Union. Tipping archaeological assets is made exceptionally for scientific or environmental interest. Currently, around 19 000 archaeological sites are identified by Iphan and information can be obtained from the Management System of the Archaeological Heritage.
The deposits of any nature, origin or purpose statements that represent the culture of paleoameríndios are considered archaeological sites; in which the sites are positive traces of occupation by paleomeríndios; . sites identified as cemeteries, graves or places of prolonged landing or village "stations" and "ceramios, and the cave or local inscriptions and other traces of activity paleoameríndios Check out the list of goods listed by Iphan:
